Chantell Johnson

Clinical Trainee

I am a clinical social work practitioner committed to advancing Black mental health, wellness, and collective healing. My work is rooted in the belief that therapy must honor identity, culture, and lived experience, especially for Black individuals, birthing people, and families whose stories are often overlooked or misunderstood in traditional mental health settings. I view Black wellness as essential to liberation, community strength, and generational thriving. I approach every therapeutic relationship with deep respect for the resilience and wisdom. My therapeutic style is culturally and trauma-responsive and healing-centered. I integrate relational and psychodynamic approaches with cognitive behavioral strategies, liberation psychology, and healing justice frameworks. I also prioritize emotional safety, cultural congruence, and collaborative meaning making, supporting clients as they explore identity, trauma, family systems, and the generational narratives that shape their lives. I bring a holistic, strength-based approach that centers dignity, humanity, and possibility. I am committed to expanding access to culturally grounded care, uplifting the voices of Black clients, and contributing to mental health systems that reflect the communities they serve. I look forward to partnering with you!
