NEIGHBORHOOD DEVELOPMENT CENTER × REVIVING ROOTS

This space is yours.

Free, confidential drop-in hours — right where you work. Talk to a therapist, work through a journal prompt, or just take up some space. You get to decide how you show up.

🔒 Your privacy is fully protected.

This is not an employer program. NDC does not receive any information about who attends, what is discussed, or whether you've been seen. What you share stays between you and your therapist — always.

GETTING STARTED

How drop-in works

No referral, no diagnosis, no reason required. Sign up even if you're only thinking about coming — signing up is how you receive your informed consent form, which is what opens the door to a one-on-one conversation with a therapist when you're ready.

01 Sign up for Drop-Ins

Sign up even if you're still deciding. You'll sign your informed consent form as part of the process — that's what makes it possible to have a conversation when you arrive.

02 Complete your paperwork

Your confirmation includes a link to a prescreener and any additional intake forms. Confidential, one-time, takes about 10 minutes.

03 Show up however you need

Sessions are first come, first served unless you've arranged a specific time with your therapist. Walk-ins welcome. Come and engage however feels right.

How can I participate?

One-on-one conversation

Talk through what's on your mind with a therapist. No agenda required.

Journal prompt or activity

Work through something on your own at your pace — available to everyone, including walk-ins.

Group activity

Available at some sites — inquire when you arrive or contact our admin team ahead of time.

Your therapists at NDC

Brittany Powell

Brittany approaches therapy from a holistic, person-first perspective. She brings warmth, systems-awareness, and a deep commitment to liberation and community wellness to every session.

*As a clinical trainee, Brittany's work is actively supervised by Bria Garner, LMFT (Clinical Director). That means her sessions are regularly reviewed by a licensed clinician — your care is held to the same standard as any session at Reviving Roots.

Clinical Trainee

Terrell Johnson

Terrell leads with active listening, validation, and a deep commitment to nonjudgmental space. Her work is grounded in trauma-informed, culturally responsive care — because she knows no two people are the same.

MA · Outpatient Therapist

Matthew Gentles

Matt creates open, judgment-free spaces where you can share what's really going on. He brings genuine curiosity and compassion to every session, working with you to find the approach that actually fits.

Ready to show up for yourself?

Sign up even if you're not sure you'll make it — it's how your informed consent form gets to you and keeps your options open. Sessions are first come, first served on the day, unless you've arranged a specific time with your therapist. Walk-ins always welcome.

GOOD QUESTIONS

What you might be wondering…

Everything you need to know.

  • Walk-ins are always welcome. But signing up through Acuity is encouraged — it's how your informed consent form gets to you, and it sends you reminders so you don't have to track it yourself.

  • Yes. Signing up on Acuity means you're expressing interest and intent to show up — it doesn't reserve a specific time slot within the window. Sessions are first come, first served unless you've arranged a specific appointment time with your therapist directly in advance.

  • You're still welcome to come in. Without your informed consent on file, you can engage with a journal prompt or provided activity. To have a one-on-one conversation with a therapist, informed consent needs to be signed first — you can complete it through the link in your confirmation email.

  • Sessions are flexible — anywhere from 5 to 55 minutes. How long you stay is entirely up to you within the drop-in window. No minimum commitment.

  • Yes — drop-in hours are available to all NDC staff and vendors. Reviving Roots is a Black-centered, liberation-focused organization, and that shapes the values, language, and approach in every session. Everyone who comes is welcome and asked to honor that.

  • Yes — drop-in is a starting place, not a ceiling. If you'd like more consistent support, you can begin individual therapy at Reviving Roots outside of drop-in hours through insurance or private pay.

  • Reviving Roots is not an on-call crisis service. If you're in a hard place during a session, your therapist will be present with you and help connect you to the right resources. If you're in immediate danger, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.
