Brittany Powell

Clinical Trainee

As a current clinical trainee with Reviving Roots Therapy & Wellness, I approach therapy from a holistic perspective, centering the person first. I have a great appreciation for theoretical orientations of Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy. I thank my sociology teacher from the very beginning stages of my undergrad in Human Services-Violence Prevention and Intervention, they truly helped shape my understanding of systemic challenges that our people in our community face from the womb.

As an advocate for our community, I work to bring systemic change that helps better impact the well-being of our underserved and marginalized communities. I believe in freedom through shining light into the shadows that we find shame and to empower people through rooted and educational resources that were built and designed for our communities, ultimately leading to self-value and worth through self-love and care. This is why I honor, believe, and find importance in the care of black wellness.

In my free time, I love to dive into different health practices centering gut health and wellness whether that be inside or out. I am a huge fan of cooking and hosting. I love to listen and see live music, hang out with my loved ones, and travel.
