Peace & Power: A Community Safety Series

Safety is wellness.
At Reviving Roots, we believe caring for ourselves and our people means learning the skills that help us feel grounded and prepared.

We’re partnering with Alex Mingus—an activist, educator, family man, and community safety facilitator who always puts his people first—to host a series of trauma-informed trainings and conversations. Each session is supported by a licensed therapist, offering space to reflect, process, and care for your emotional well-being as you learn. This series centers the safety, wellness, and lived experiences of Black community members.

From self-defense to community conversations, The Community Safety Series explores how safety starts within us, expands to our relationships, and ripples through our communities. It’s about more than protection—it’s about reclaiming peace, agency, and connection.

Sliding scale pricing is available, because healing and empowerment should be accessible—not gatekept.

How registration works.

The Community Safety Series is offered as a sliding scale package: $360 • $240 • $120
We use a sliding scale because safety and wellness should be accessible—not limited by income.
We simply ask that you be real and honest about what you can pay. Your choice makes this accessible for the next person.

After you purchase the series, you’ll receive a unique registration code in your confirmation email.
You’ll use that code to go back into our scheduling site and sign up for each of the six sessions you plan to attend.

This keeps our class size accurate, ensures fair access, and allows you to choose the sessions that work for you.

Important notes:

  • You must register for each session individually using your code.

  • Space is limited to 15 people so we can keep the group grounded, connected, and supported.

  • Once spots are filled, registration for that session will close.

We’re keeping it intimate on purpose—
because learning safety skills in community requires trust, care, and space for everyone’s nervous system.
